Make Chatham Great!
|Adopt a Space|
Stewardship of public spaces is encouraged for any organization, business team, or resident group willing to commit the time and effort required to keep the space shining, clean and beautiful.
(Pictured) TOWN AND COUNTRY PROPERTIES adopted the Diversity Garden at the Railroad South Commuter Parking Lot on Fairmount Avenue. Spring, Summer and Winter custodianship by volunteer professionals from TOWN AND COUNTRY PROPERTIES had the garden blooming and manicured.
BIERLYS LANDSCAPING adopted the landscaping beds located in front of the Library near Main Street. In keeping with the Country Cottage style of gardening with perennials, Mark Bierly’s effort supported those efforts of the Library Trustees and Mr. and Mrs. Gardener who have been planting perennials on the Library grounds for years.
BSA TROOP # 8 has a longtime record for rounding up trash and creating access to Stanley Park for public use. Likewise Troop # 8 has been credited with sprucing up Lafayette Park at the corner of Lafayette Avenue and the restoration of the community’s park benches at Lafayette and Reasoner Park. Way to go Boys!
Local tailor, MR. JOE PASCARELLA has adopted and now maintains his own little patch of green space in the Post Office Plaza next to the parking lot exit on to Fairmount Avenue. Mr Pascarella is well-known for his downtown beautification efforts, you can read more about him on the Pretty Planter Project page.
